Family Move, 2009
A recreation of Enya’s “The Celts” by the entire Aguilar household. All six family members sing it while listening to it on headphones and are recorded twice to add an echoing effect.


Ten String Harp, 2011
Alberto Aguilar and James Woodfill begin recording without content or a framework. By the time they reach the tenth recording these are formed. Music by Madeleine Aguilar.

Failing Memory or Intelligence, 2008
For the first and third part of this piece the words nineteen sixty eight are sang to the tune of Otis Redding’s “Sitting at the Dock of the Bay”, a top ten song of 1968. Madeleine Aguilar (daughter) fills in the gaps with the beat of her choice using the words two thousand and eight. The middle part consists of excerpts from an article written for Popular Mechanics in 1968 of what life would be like in 2008. They are juxtaposed with Manuel Aguilar
